ObamaCare
A notable letter to the editor, printed in The Capital (Annapolis, MD), Friday July, 15, 2011. Enjoy!
Just so I understand this correctly, we’re going to be “gifted” with a health care plan we are forced to purchase and fined if we don’t, which will cover approximately 10 million more people without adding a single new doctor.
It was written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn’t understand it, passed by a Congress that didn’t read it, and signed by a president who smokes.
At least we can take comfort in knowing that nothing can possibly go wrong, because the funding will be administered by a treasury chief who didn’t pay his taxes, overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that’s already broke. Only in America.

Interesting perspective.
It’s easy to take pieces of facts and make them look silly. But I’d like to see Ken’s suggestions:
Health care and not buying it. If you don’t have health insurance and show up at the hospital’s front door they are legally bound to treat you. So you’re treated for free. That’s not far from shoplifting/stealing. Maybe the balance you can’t pay should be deducted from your Social Security benefits?
The 10 million are being treated anyways (see hospital above) And they are likely sicker when they do receive care. I hope these lower income people with an illness aren’t contaminating your food when they’re working in the restaurant.
President who smokes? Is that really relevant? And a GS who’s obese. Take pot shots everywhere. Do you like the fact US health care is nearly 2x our western world competion? The more we spend on healthcare is less we can spend on R&D.
This seems like selected potshots, not solutions. Griping doesn’t get us far.
